| Text: | Recently collected my third Black 1987 BMW K100RS. I keep buying them because theyre so good, and then selling them again because something better comes along (Last time it was the brilliant R1150GS - awsome!) This K-RS has a sidecar attached, and I reckon IM gonna keep this one.
Dead reliable, highly practical, and still looks like a proper bike.

New Zealand from the U.S.A so it has the lights on permanently, a good idea I think! I have done a bit of touring on it-it's great for the country roads as there are few cars and you can see the cops for miles!! Everything fits me very well (I'm
188cms)but I had to get the factory seat sculpted a little bit to fit-now close to perfect! I also modified the gear lever with a top arm and it improves shifting and stops wet feet in heavy rain.
I enjoy my K-Bike, the only thing I don't like is the whine at town speeds! |

| Text: | I have a 1991/04 K75RT with ABS. I bought it in 1997 second hands with 18994 km and now it stands on 112491 km.
No nonsense and a no problem bike. Only the seat is for my wife a crime. I am searching for a solution, so she can sit without sliding for- or backwards when I put on the breaks or speeding up (just slowly!). The comfort saddle is not what I am looking for because I get problems with my legs ( the distance between the saddle and the street will lower). Well for all is a solution. But the K-bike is my bike! |

| Text: | I have a 1986 K75 fitted with a faring that came from Europe that I cannot identify. I need a new lens for the indicator (Bosch part) but have been unable to get one as the numbers stamped on it mean nothing apparantly.
I have photos of the faring and light fitting that I can send, but not sure how to attach them to this message? I hope that someone in Europe can identify it and tell me where to get spare parts. It was imported into Australia by a Dutchman (now dead) and no one knows what it is. |

Fahre seit 1986 BMW K Modelle wie K100LT danach K100RS und 2x K1100RS danach wieder LT, aus gesundheitgründen 6 Jahre Trike und seit 2002 wieder
Gute Bike`s.
Karfreitag eine schöne Eifeltour gemacht und Samstag in die Werkstatt wegen ABS defekt(Druckmodulator)!!1200EU´S 50% BMW Kulanz +250€ Einbau nur kein Ersatzteil lieferbar.
Hätte ich von BMW nicht erwartet.
Bei 220000 Verkauften Motorrädern mit ABS und laut Aussage von Herr Stoffregen nur 21 Beanstandungen ist meiner meinung nach eine Zuzahlung ein Witz.
Dieser Defekt hätte auch Leben kosten können!!
PS.: Sehr gute Page schau gern wieder rein ;-)))

| Text: | On my second K1100 now. They do grow on you. From the 1100 RSA to the 1100LT, trashed the RSA on the M25 motorway, hit and run accident but the bike still goes today after being thrown down the road at 70MPH and having the faring ripped off back in 2000. |

| Text: | I purchased my K100 RS 1984 last year with 189,000 on the clock and apart from a collision with a kangaroo at 115 kph that distroyed the front and left side of the bike (The bike stayed upright) i beleve that the K100 is the only reason i am alive today.
I will never own any bike but a BMW ever
again .

Die Page ist genial, ne menge Infos zusammengetragen und klasse rübergebracht!
Ich kann nur Sagen, Hut ab! Viele sollten sich einfach mal Gedanken machen was BMW mit gerade der K.Serie ins Leben gerufen hat: Wer hat die erste Einarmschwinge in die Serie gebracht? OK war ne Boxer GS, das ABS, G-Kat, oder die Einspritztechnik? Und dann stetig, nicht als Eintagsfliege Weiterentwickelt und viele Innovationen hinzufügte um den Stand der Technik anzuführen.Eine K ,selbst nach 20 Jahren ist durchaus ein Motorrad welches man(n) /Frau sehr gut Fahren kann. Vielleicht bin ich ja BMW Bebrillt, Sage aber, auch andere Mütter haben schöne Töchter, aber mal Hand aufs Herz, wer gibt sich schon mit ,,auch'' zufrieden?

Meine K1100RS 93/94 hat 54000Km hinter sich gebracht mit ganz wenigen Problemen.
Anlasser: Die Kohlen klemmten.
Elektik: 2 Relays sind ausgefallen.
Tourenzähler: Bleibt sporadisch hängen, bzw geht nicht weiter als xxx, jedoch immer zurück. |

Bin wegen des großen Umfanges noch nicht ganz durch. Freue mich aber sehr, wenn ich etwas über meine Maschine lesen kann.
Gibt es jemand in meiner Nähe, mit dem ich mal beim Kaffee 'fachsimpeln' kann?
Würde gerne praktische Tips erfahren und dies und das.

Great site! I've been riding a 1992 K75C for over a year now. I bought it with 48,000 mph, it now has 62,000 mph. I do all my own maintenance and hopefully can keep it that way. BMW dealer recommend's cleaning gas tank for the removal of water. Should I do this myself? Maybe just pour some dry gas or a fuel injector cleaner in the tank and ride it all day to lower the density of the "possible" water?? Can somebody offer me some info on this "Water collects in gas tank..."
P.s There has been a lot of K75 parts being sold on ebay.com, if riders are looking for for parts, there's been a lot on sale on that site.

Our group consists of 7 K100RS (1984-1987) and one 1984/K100RT with well maintenance.
Unbelieveable, this flying brick still can reach speed of 200 km/hr easily and still have some extra in your hand.
Yeah, for the modern bike this speed is nothing but any of them aged 20 years ?
For a woman age 20 - 21 considered as mature lady but for a bike aged 20 years the place she supposed to stay is --- in the junk yard or garage.
Accept that K100 is not perfect but they are one of the best bike ever built.

durch Zufall stieß ich auf Ihre Seite. Ich habe mir vor zwei Wochen eine BMW K 100 RS - in blau - gekauft. Es ist ein ganz fantastisches Motorrad. Am 21.03., also am Montag, lasse ich es auf meinen Namen zu. Genau an diesem Tag ist das Motorrad dann 20 Jahre alt. Aber es sieht aus wie neu. Ich freue mich schon auf die schönen Tage an denen ich mit der Maschine unterwegs sein kann. Die Internetpräsenz von Ihnen finde ich sehr gut und ist äußerst ansprechend.

Ich habe mir erst vor 3 Monaten eine K100RS zugelegt. ( Davor etliche Jahre xs 750 gefahren. Durch einen Kumpel auf eure Seiten gekommen und restlos begeistert. Habe gerade im Forum gestöbert und einige Dinge gefunden, die auch mein Moped und mich betreffen.
Hut ab vor so viel Angagement und macht weiter so.
